Essential oil of wild oregano has strong herbal aroma and due to high content of phenols it prevents the growth of microorganisms. It is one of the most powerful essential oils and its main compound is phenol carvacrol thanks to which this oil is very irritating for mucous membrane and skin.

It blends well with essential oils of citronella, pine, lavender and cedarwood.
